Carefree summer days: L'Eau de Chloé

My current favorite summer fragrance is the L'Eau de Chloé. It has a fresh, carefree and feminine scent. It is a lovely floral mix of scents which reminds me of those carefree summer days when you are sitting in the sun in your favorite pastel dress, eating ice cream and there is a lovely scent of roses in the summer air.

It has the notes of grapefruit, cedrat, peach, violet, rose petals, natural water of rose, cedarwood, ptchouli and amber.

Love you Anastasia!

Few months ago I got the Anastasia Beverly Hills Beauty Express for Brows and Eyes.

The reason why I waited this long to try it out is because I had to grow my eyebrows... Not a pleasant project... But when I tried on the stencils that came in the set, I noticed that I had committed one of the worst make up sins... I had over plugged my eyebrows. So therefore, in order to get the full Anastasia experience I had to wait for a while and let two little bushes grow over my eyes. Definitely not the most pleasant weeks of my life.

Now I cannot stress enough how much I love this set. It is a lifesaver. It has made my make up routine so much easier.

The set itself is tiny and does not take much space in your purse. Which is great, cause this is a definitely a thing that I will always take with me when I am traveling.

The set has a mirror, instructions, stencils, angled brush, brow wax cream, brow powder duo and an eyeshadow duo. Almost everything you need for your eye make up.

The set that I picked is meant for blondes so the shades are more light grayish.

The set is in my opinion a lifesaver for eyebrows. I do not understand how I have lived without it. The idea behind it is that with the stencils you can create a perfect shape for your eyebrows.

First you select the stencil of your liking. Preferably one that is closer to your current eyebrow shape. But the best part obviously is that you can spice up your appearance by changing the style. Then you apply the brow wax cream in oder for the brow powder to stick on better. Then you align the stencil on top of your eyebrow in accordance with the markings on the stencil and apply the brow powder to the open area. When you remove the stencil you can easily tweeze any excess hair outside of the powdered area. And there you go, you have perfectly shaped eyebrows.

The set comes with two great eyeshadows as well, which I quite prefer to use on my everyday make up.

I just love this set. At first I had some doubts about it. I found it impossible for a tiny set like this to suit all types of eyebrows. But I definitely was pleasantly surprised. The stencils are designed so that I believe everyone will find at least one for their liking. It has made it so much easier to shape my eyebrows and not over tweeze them. It can be really hard to get your eyebrows even and looking good but with this tool it is super easy. I would not give this up for anything. So thank you Anastasia you are truly the eyebrow queen :)

M.A.C Shoppings

Yesterday I went shopping for some M.A.C products.

I got some brush cleanser, pressed blot powder in medium and the 217 brush.

I quite like the blot powder. It is not like regular powder, it is meant more for getting rid off shine on your face and it does it really well. I have it with me all the time. Especially on a sweaty summer day (which we have not experienced that much in Finland this summer) it is really handy to have it with you. You just whip it out of your purse, powder your face and there, the sweaty little piggie is gone :D

Tip: How to Clean Your Make up Brushes

Cleaning your make up brushes is essential. You want to keep your brushes in good condition and by taking care of them and cleaning them from time to time you can make sure the brushes last in good shape for longer. Also brushes are a nesting place for bacterias and germs which can be the cause for outbreaks on your skin. Therefore it is important to clean your brushes regularly.

Now I believe that in unprofessional use it is enough to wash your brushes thoughly once or twice a month. However foundation brushes should be washed after everytime you have used them.

For once a month brush cleaning I use the Marseille soap. But you can also use Le Chat soap or even shampoo. However I do not think shampoo is the best option since it might dry your brushes too much and you have to moisturize them afterwards with for example olive oil.

This is how you can easily clean your brushes:

First start by dipping the brush in cool water.

After that gently rub the brush on the soap by doing a circular motion. The idea is to get the soap foaming and remove all that nasty make up residue.

Then do the same circular motion on the palm of your hand and foam the brush. Try to get all the make up residue off. You can rinse the brush while you do this. Massage the brush on your hand untill the water turns clear and rinse the brush just to make sure you got all the soap off. Squeeze gently any extra water from the brush or dab the brush on a cloth or towel.

Lastly place the brushes on a horizontal position to dry.

An important thing is to always wash your brushes the hair part down. This way water cannot damage the glue holding hair in its place. Always when drying your brushes, dry them on a horizontal position on a flat surface. Never dry your brushes with the hair part up, this is a sure way to ruin your brush.

For everyday cleaning it is best to use brush cleasing liquids or sprays that you can get from beauty stores. For example M.A.C has its own brush cleasing liquid which I quite prefer. You can also use normal hand sanitizer to clean your brushes. Just put some of the product on a cloth or napkin and rub the brush on it on a circular motion to get rid off all that make up residue.

Tamara Scarf

Finally it is here! The Mulberry Tamara Scarf! I have been wanting this for so long and finally managed to get it.

I think the scarf is just fantastic. The fact that it has two sides, darker and a lighter one, adds so much more dimension and versatility to it.

I am just absolutely in love with it <3

Never Grow Up

My favorite Winnie-the-Pooh cartoon character is Eeyore. He is such an adorable little pessimistic donkey.

When I saw this pez dispenser I just had to have it. Yes I know it is childish but I could not resist the cuteness of it :)

Quick dry, dry quick

Doing your nails can be time consuming. First you apply one coat of polish wait for that to dry, then maybe two or three more coats and wait for those to dry. Lastly you might want to do a cute design and surprisingly wait for that to dry. In worst case scenario your evening plans might consist of well, doing your nails. Now, we cannot have this. There are times when everything just has to happen quick. You're in a hurry to go to work and you just have to fix up your nails or your boyfriend or date is waiting for you to take you out on a fantastic dinner.

Luckily there is a time saving solution to our little nail polish problems :)

I would like to dedicate this blog post to all those fantastic people that made my life so much easier by inventing the quick dry products. I cannot imagine how much of hell life was before this invention. You can get these quick dry products in drops, sprays and top coats. They basically dry your nail polish in minutes or even seconds.

I have the Mavala spray nail polish dryer. Now, I think the spray products are just great. It is basically like a hairspray, you add it to finish your design. After you are done with applying your polish or finishing up your design just spray this on and in few minutes or seconds even, your nail design is all dry and you are ready to go.

My personal favorite is the Seche Vite dry fast top coat. I also have the Depend quick dry & shine topplack however I do not think it is as good. The best part of Sehce Vite is that it is easy to spread and that it does not leave any bubbles like some top coats do. Just spread it on top of your nail design just like a regular top coat. I think it is truly a lifesaver and I always use it. It literally takes only few minutes to dry, depending on how many coats of polish you have on obviously. It also gives your nails a nice shine. However the only negative part is that it wears of the tips of your nail polish more quicker.

Do you use quick dry products? Which one is your favorite?

Unhealthy obsessions

Lately I have been really obsessed with vanilla coke and ginger beer. I drink both of these almost daily and get really bad cravings if I try to walk past them at the store.

It's definitely really unhealthy habit. I mean, there is so much sugar and calories in them and they are definitely not good for you're teeth. But sometimes you need live a little and enjoy life. Having few beverages now and then in my opinion is allowed.... with moderation.... maybe every other week or once a month...

Do you have any unhealthy obsession? How do you deal with them?

Silky legs with Lush silk stockings

Lush has some really cool stuff. I got this body shimmering cream called silk stockings.

It is really cute heart shaped bar that you rub on to add some shimmer and glow on your body ;) You can use it for your legs and arms.

Just rub it on your skin and spread.

It feels really creamy and spreads nicely. I have used it on my legs sometimes when I am going out for a dinner to get that lovely shimmer glow. However since it is so creamy, on really hot weather it feels sticky on your legs. It does not smudge on your clothes or anything but it might feel a bit uncomfortable. But the result is really nice and it makes your legs look gorgeous. Also since it is in bar shape it lasts for very long.

Quick update: Blue nails

Tried out my new shimmering blue nail polish from Mavala. Lovely summer color, isn't it?

No 7 review

I have heard a lot of good about the No 7 beauty series. So when I saw that there was a sale on No 7 products I just had to buy few to try.

I got the No 7 Gentle Cleanser and Gentle Toner.

Now, I have been a faithfull user of Body Shop's Aloe Gentle Facial Wash for years and a faithful user of Body Shop products in general. In my opinion this is the best facial wash and make up remover that there is. So I had my doubts about No7 cleanser.

Luckily I was pleasently surprised. The No 7 cleanser is great. It washes off your entire make up and even washes off the Isadora Big and Bold mascara which can be really pain in the ass to get rid off. It is as good as the Body Shop Aloe wash if not even better. It does however, leave your face a little bit greasy afterwards but I guess since it is a hydrating product this is something that it is supposed to do. I would anyway prefer to have my face feeling a bit more moisturized then all dry and thigh which can happen sometimes during winter.

All I can say about the toner is good things as well. It just works really good. They both smell nice and the bottles are really cute and they are little bit pinkish which is always a plus :) They are both pump bottles which makes adjusting the amount of the product really easy.

I would definetly recommend buying these. They are cheap and do their job. I got these for 2 for 1 discount at Anttila, one bottle was less than 7 euros. I have not had the change to try out any other products in the series but I surely will when I have need for anything else.

Have you tried any No 7 products?

Aldo Wedge Sandals

Finally they are here. Well finally and finally it took asos less than a week to ship them to me so I cannot really complain that it took too long. However when you are as impatient as I am I guess one could say "finally" :D

But look how pretty they are :)

I got them in size 4 (which equals size 37 in Finland). They are just perfect fit and feel super comfy too.  The best part: they make me super tall!! :D Cannot wait to pair them up with... umm a mint green dress :D

You can find the shoes here. They still have sizes left.

In candyland!

Last weekend I went to an amusement park and just had to stop by at the candy store. All sorts of crazy and delicious things they have nowadays :)

Sad little hello kitties :(

Hello kitty nonsense.

Fluffy puffy cotton candy, yums!

I have a huge sweet tooth but was able to restrain myself from buying everything that just happened to look colorful and cute.
